Quiet Tears by Danny B Bourg
"Calm my fears," to a picture she cried "I know you're coming home, you've never lied" How could he be so calm, framed with a stare When her whole life, piece by piece began to tear
It was a dream away, when their life began Hugs and kisses, a ceremony on the sand "With this ring, I'll be here always for you" She cried with happiness, "I do"
In their life together, sometimes hard to bear The thought of his job, always a little scare A police officer, most all his natural life But she knew this, before becoming his wife
Now she sits, with his picture in her hands With a gut feeling, grasping at the strands "Baby please, don't slip away "Our tenth anniversary, is coming in a day"
The phone's ring, sounded with a blast "Sorry my dear, he tried his best but couldn't last"
A criminal's bullets, made real her worst fears
