My Brother of Arms by Danny B. Bourg
I never got to say goodbye, in my way Time rolls, on the words I'd have loved to say Circumstances pass, takes so much to deal It doesn't give you, too much time too heal
No bond is stronger, than two brothers of heart It begins, at an early start Born in family, bonded by blood Memories down my face, they flood
I remember young, as being of age Never too old, too turn that page Now a chapter, that had to unfold Has left me feeling, this sudden cold
But then I start thinking, life with my best friend I reflect on the good times, and laugh again We made so many memories, as time flies I promise to keep every single one of them, alive
I love with this heart, and every ounce of my soul I will hug you once again, on those streets of gold Always faithful, through whatever storms I will always remember, my brother of arms
In loving memory of Andrew L. Brashear, Scout-Sniper, USMC, who gave his life defending his country.
