Dear Sir by Danny B. Bourg

I'm writing you this letter, but you don't know my name

I need to know the reasons, that in my path you came

I'm not being myself lately, I can't get any rest

So I decided to write you, to ease my mind, at best

I'm a six year old little girl, with ponytails

Sometimes I act grown up, and I paint my nails

I love playing with dolls, I play kitchen too

There's so many things, for a little girl to do

But lately in my life, there's been a lot of change

It happened so fast, I'm left with a feeling so strange

So far away, from my life that used to be

The things that were normal, now are hard to see

I miss my Mother and Father, most of all

Playing hide-and-go-seek, running down the hall

Did you know my birthday, was only ten days away?

I'm sorry, I forgot you don't know me, forgive me I pray

I was playing in my front yard, my back to the street

A noise so loud, then I was swiped off my feet

If you don't recognize me now, after this letter you've read

Because of your drinking and driving, I'm dead
